The Process

If you want to register for the counselling service with Crosspoint, then please either:

  1. Complete and send the form below.

  2. Send a hardcopy to Crosspoint (Westbury), Market Place, Westbury, Wiltshire, BA13 3DE.

  3. Or hand in a completed form to the White Horse Health Centre.

You will then be contacted by one of our counsellors to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet up or connect via Zoom, WhatsApp or similar.

We usually offer up to 12 weekly counselling sessions with an initial commitment of six weeks.

A Commitment

To get the most from your counselling sessions you should aim to attend regularly and consistently.

Some sessions will feel more helpful than others, but it's important to realise that everything your counsellor is doing is designed to help you in the long-term, even though it may not feel like it in the beginning.

It's also worth remembering that counselling is not a quick fix, and that your counsellor will not be able to tell you what to do.

The counselling process requires a strong relationship between you and your counsellor and a degree of effort on your part to create a successful method to help you resolve your issues.

Your questions answered

  • Counselling falls under the umbrella term ‘talking therapies’ and can mean different things to different people, but in general, it is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives, or simply to explore thoughts and feelings in more depth.

It can cover bereavement, illness, relationships, depression and anxiety, trauma and many other areas.

  • Adults and young people who live in Westbury and the surrounding villages and/or who are registered with the White Horse Health Centre.

  • The counselling service is affordable based on people’s ability to pay.

As a charity, we do ask if people are in a position to make a donation which will help the service to be financially sustainable in the long-term.
